Alom is a digital record label founded in Tulum with deep connection to Mayan culture.
It’s because of the connection to this land that we want our first release to be of help in this time of need.
We have teamed up with MARDELEVA, releasing their latest creation “The Storm Approaches”, inspired literally and metaphorically, by the current state of the planet and the heavy storms we are experiencing in Tulum.
MARDELEVA has requested all profits go directly to the local efforts in Tulum. This is completely aligned with the ethos of ALOM.
The Riviera Maya and TULUM communities live almost entirely from the millions of travelers exploring and enjoying the natural and cultural richness of our destination. Thousands of jobs have been lost, and the essential needs are no longer being met by most. This puts our communities at a huge risk.
‍With absolute uncertainty of the length of the lockdown the Tulum Community needs your help to sustain our relief efforts through this crisis.
The release date of Friday June 19 is significant. BANDCAMP is donating 100% of their share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a racial justice organization with a long history of effectively enacting change through litigation, advocacy, and public education.
This is why we have decided, with Mardeleva, to maximize our efforts on a day of aid to local and global efforts that need urgent attention.
